Players from the Newcastle Eagles, Glasgow Rocks, Manchester Mystics and Nottingham Wildcats went face-to-face during a recent day of filming here in Birmingham!
Fabulous Flounroy (Newcastle Eagles), Kieron Achara (Glasgow Rocks), Dominique Allen (Manchester Mystics) and Hannah Shaw (Nottingham Wildcats) locked heads right here at our arena ahead of their January clashes.
It's the first time the teams have met since making the final and although an element of rivalry was in the air, spirits were high. Players from all four teams were joking around and having banter as they filmed the promo for the big final.
Newcastle Eagles could make history as they head into their third consecutive BBL Cup final, with no other team ever winning three on the bounce. The Glasgow Rocks are in great form and sailed through the semi's giving us a repeat of the 2015 final.
Former Birmingham Bullet, Fabulous Flournoy, seemed happy to be back in his home away from home and was clearly focused on wanting to make BBL history next January at the Barclaycard Arena. The tall figure of Rocks forward Kieron Achara was unmistakable and just like Fab, he was loving being able to grab a first look at where the final will take place.
The WBBL Cup Final will also take place here at the Barclaycard Arena as the Manchester Mystics go head-to-head with the Nottingham Wildcats in front of a packed out crowd! Both Hannah Shaw and Dominique Allen (daughter of former Bullets legend Clive Allen) looked super relax during the filming, so relaxed in fact that when the pair had to film their 'face-off' promo, they burst out laughing...about 5 times.
I'm not sure the two will be laughing on Sunday 15th January, but we know that whatever happens on the court, stays on the court.
Make sure you join us in the New Year where we'll see champions will be crowned!
